Osterfjord
The over 100 years old fishing method is unique in its kind,
and can only be experinced in the Osterfjord/stamnes area. Small «cabins» along
the fjord, which either stands on stakes or attached to the mountainside, are
called salmon trap "laksegilje", where the fishermen sat for hours
looking for the big salmon.
When the fishermen saw the big salmon in the seine they closed it
helped by rope from the "gilje" down to the closing net.
Hesjedalsfossen
Hesjedalsfossen waterfall is an impressing sight with its 70
meter down fall into the river. From the seaside you can see a
beautiful old stonebridge in front of the the waterfall.
